Growing Pains: Three Pieces of a Leash and the Battle Against Fleas

The Destruction Phase
We’ve officially reached a new chapter in the puppy timeline: the phase where Zag explores the entire world with his mouth.
I thought I was paying attention. Really. I was in the kitchen prepping lunch and looked away for maybe thirty seconds. In that brief moment of silence, my brand-new, sturdy fixed leash didn’t just break — it was professionally dismantled.
It’s now three separate pieces.
I’m not even mad. I’m honestly impressed with the precision. He chewed through that material like it was soft butter. And it didn’t stop there. Later that afternoon, he found a cleaning cloth that had slipped behind the sofa. By the time I found him, the cloth wasn’t a cloth anymore. It was confetti. Everywhere.
Longer Walks, Bigger Puppy
His timing for destroying his walking gear couldn’t be worse, because our world is getting bigger by the day.
Zag is growing fast. That tiny 2-kilogram fluffball is gone. He’s now close to 3 kilograms, and with that extra weight comes extra stamina. We’re taking longer walks, exploring new parts of the neighborhood, and meeting more dogs along the way.
But going further out brings its own set of problems.
The Invisible Enemy and My Recommendation
We haven’t seen ticks yet, maybe we’re lucky with the season or location . But fleas are definitely out there.
Since we’re spending so much time on the grass, protection became my top priority this week. After checking with the vet, I realized how much gear a puppy actually needs: flea prevention, ear-cleaning products, grooming items, and a rotating supply of equipment he doesn’t manage to destroy.
We’re constantly curating our shop with items we genuinely use or trust. I’ll highlight a few individual products we rely on, but if you want the full extended list: covering puppies, adults, grooming, health supplies, and more, you can find it here:

Now I just need to go buy another leash. Hopefully this one survives more than a week.
